Budgeting Creates Clarity
Here's how to see things better with a budget

Welcome to the Friday FinTips newsletter, where I provide tips to simplify how you manage money.

The Point
A budget can help you make better plans for your future because it’ll give you a clearer picture of your financial situation.
What I Did
From an early age, it was important for me to know where my money was going because I’ve always had plans for the future. My budget allowed me to see those plans come to fruition. Granted, not all of them and not always on the timeline I wanted, but still. The point being: the budget made a significant difference.
It allowed me to set realistic goals and do regular check-ins to make sure I was on track (or, more often, make adjustments to get back on track). I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do in my life, but putting them into a budget helps them actually take shape.
What You Can Do
If you have ANY kind of plans for your future, chances are it’ll involve money in SOME respect. Here are some tips that can help you get there:
Make a budget. If you don’t like budgeting, make something simple that just focuses on those future plans.
Remember that even with a budget, you may still have some blind spots (and that’s okay). That’s why you have an emergency fund.
Just like with actual glasses, your budget may need “new lenses” every once in a while. Meaning, you may need to tweak it or start over. Don’t fret those moments, it’s part of your growth journey!
As always, I’m here if you have any questions. But, that’s all I’ve got for now. I hope you have a great weekend!
